How to begin earning money on-line

Let’s say that you decide it’s soon going to be the time to give up the day job and start earning a living on-line as you believe a large number of people already do.  But this will apply to any new venture – jsut change a few of the words.  Remember, too, that these are only my suggestions;  change the wording to suit you and youyr circumstances better.

First decide on a date by which you will have earned your first on-line income, regardless of how much.  Write it down in a statement such as:

“By November 1st 2010 I am earning an income on-line.”

“By New Year’s Day 2012 I am earning my living on-line.”

You could add statements like:

“Every day I do something to improve my on-line money-making skills.”

“Every day I work on my business for a short time.”

“Every day I work at generating income on-line.”

You can add interim steps such as:

“It’s my birthday and I am celebrating having met  my target of £5,000 this   year so far.”

“It’s the end of my first tax year and I have made a (small) profit.”

“It is January  30th 2011 and I have a web site which is bringing at least one  order every day.”

“It is Christmas 2011 and I am celebrating a successful year.”

However, what if you really don’t know what there is to do or when it should be done?

Actually, you probably do somewhere deep down in your subconscious brain.  My next suggestion is one way to retrieve this knowledge. I’m going to suggest that you Mind Map your way to success.

Don’t worry if you’ve never heard of Mind Mapping!  Please don’t get irritated by the suggestion, but give it a go. It’s great fun.  I love it and I even use it for writing reports and planning courses.

Take a large piece of paper width-wise (landscape in computer jargon). Put your end goal in the middle and then add wiggly lines running out along which you write in the fewest words possible things you’ll need to do to get there.

The idea of this is that it mirrors the pathways that your brain uses. You could draw pictures instead.  Research tells us that our brains like images better than they like words. Use colours.  Make it look good. Above all set small tasks and just go one step at a time.

Don’t delete anything but after a good think you might want to start again and organise the entries a bit better but if you’re happy the way it is leave it.  Pin it up where it will inspire you.

Then create a calendar and mark on it tasks that need doing and the date when they should be complete.

Don’t just imagine it will happen.  Writing down what you have to do and by when is powerful. It sets forth your intention to the universe and begins to attracts the people and the tools you need.

So, what are the tools?   Who are the people? How you are going to do this.  Will you do it alone?  Do you need somebody to ‘report’ to who will keep you on track?  Would you prefer to work with a trusted other and share the work and the profit.

Some useful statements could be:

“I already know  all the people who can help me make a success of this.”

“I am attracting the people and circumstances that will help me be successful.”

How much time can you devote to this?  Will it be the odd half hour when you are in the mood (or not too tired from you demanding day job)?  Note that 30 minutes a day, which isn’t very much, is a massive 160 hours a year. Can you devote just one hour a day, 5 days a week to do your preparation?

At what point could you increase the amount of time available? Exactly which hours would they be?  Could you seriously get up a couple of hours before the rest of your family to work on it?  Be honest with yourself!

Be consistent even if it means giving up something today – the reward will be there in the future.

Try saying:

“I work on my new business at the time that suits my body clock best.”

“I am experimenting working at different times and learning how my body clock works best.”

“I spend xx minutes/hours every day working on  my successful business.”

Think about yourself.  How do you cope with ‘failure’?  How will you feel if you do a lot of work and it doesn’t bring you a fortune immediately? Can you accept that there is no such thing as failure? Can you see it as just ‘another way that didn’t work’?   Will you persevere until success comes your way or will that be hard for you?

Try some of these:

“Setbacks make me stronger and more determined to succeed.”

“I always get there in the end.”

“I  have always succeeded in the past and there is no reason for that to change.

“I am strong and steady and determined to make a success of this.”

“I plan well, choose carefully and I am successful.”

Just some nice general statements:

“I live a wonderful, happy life in a comfortable home and have an income that exceeds my needs.”

“I am confident of my ability to live a healthy, happy, prosperous life.”

Above all, be positive:  focus on the good things in life and you will attract them to you.

Chinese New Year

Posted February 11th, 2010 by Rosemary Jane

Years ago I bought a little book about my Chinese Horoscope, which has sat on my bookshelf, only occasionally seeing the light of day.  I like the idea that I am a tiger.  The  only  thing I think I recall (and frankly it doesn’t matter to me if I’ve imagined this)  is that when the year of your birth comes round it is very auspicious.  So, as the Year of the Tiger rapidly approaches, I’ve found myself thinking about it more and more often, actually feeling quite excited that MY year is about to start. I’m so enamoured of this idea that I am planning to go to some Chinese New Year celebrations for the first time ever. Because the celebrations in London will be a week late this year, I can go the parade in Portsmouth on the actual day and  celebrate twice!

I’ve been thinking about this for a few moments for a few weeks and I am now quite sure that this year will be the most fantastic yet, particularly in terms of business success and income;  I’m also going to have a lot of fun.

The Law of Attraction states that you get what you focus on.  So, friends, whether you were born in the Year of the Tiger or not,  forget the boring New Year’s resolutions that you’ve already broken; be excited at the prospect of the Chinese New Year and all that is promised for you. Did I hear you say that the Chinese New Year doesn’t promise you anything? You’re right.

The promises come from your mind.  See yourself as happy, healthy and successful;  feel happy, healthy and successful;  think happy, healthy and successful thoughts;  and celebrate the start of a  happy and successful Chinese New Year, the Year of the Tiger.

How To Get ANYTHING You Want In Life

If you’ve been following my recent posts you’ll remember that I strongly believe that we need to pay attention to the way we think about what we want in order to achieve it.

But it’s not quite as easy as it seems to do this on your own.  Recently, I’ve been guilty of silently ‘moaning’ about where time has gone and how long it takes to do things that should be quick.  I was brought up short by an email from a girlfriend I haven’t seen for years who has been busy entertaining over the Christmas holiday. I wrote back about how lucky she was to be able to do this. And then thought, ‘Oh, no!  Where was that kind of thinking for me these last few days? I should be grateful that I had the time and the space and a warm room and a computer’.

Therefore today I’d like to tell you about a product that I have purchased myself:

A Super Simple System To Get Your Mind Working To Bring You All You Want Every Time

Please take a look at this simple step-by-step system which will show you how to unlock the power of your mind and enable you to fulfill your dreams!

Don’t abandon your New Year’s Resolutions too soon: how a simple step-by-step goal-based system combined with visualisation can help you

Let’s say that your goal is to be debt-free. Since you should always pay off debts incurring the highest interest charge first, let’s imagine that this is a credit card. State paying off this credit card as a goal with a ‘finish-by’ date; then divide it into small, achievable sections.

Decide on a date by which you can reasonably clear this debt. Don’t be over-ambitious. State this  as a goal, using positive language: ‘By the end of mm/yyyy  my [name of]credit card has a zero balance’.

Decide how much you are going to repay each month, deduct this from the total outstanding and state the first step as, ‘By the end of dd/mm/yyyy [the first month] my credit card balance has reduced to [amount still owed]‘.

Do the maths and continue writing a similar step for each month.

Now for the fun part!

Every day, imagine that you receive a cheque for however much is still owed! In your mind’s eye, actually picture that amount. To make it even more fun, design your own blank cheque or search blank cheque images on Google.

Print it and fill it in, payable to yourself, with the amount you would like. The signature should be ‘Your Provider’, God, your loving Father, the Universe, the Supreme Being, or whoever else you believe provides for you.

Put the cheque in an envelope addressed to yourself and post it through your letter box as you leave the house.

When you return, open the envelope and read the cheque; believe it is real; feel fantastic! Believe absolutely that the money has come to you. Display the cheque somewhere where you can see it every day.

Keep the feelings of joy and relief and gratitude in your mind for as long as you can. Say a great big thank you to whoever signed the cheque. Go further and write a proper ‘thank you letter’.

Do the same tomorrow and every day for as long as it takes. Continue to believe with complete certainty that the money has come to you.   Never give up the belief that you are debt-free.

Stating Goals Positively In The Present Can Help You Keep Your New Year’s Resolutions

In the past you probably stated those New Year’s Resolutions in terms of,

‘I am going to lose 10 pounds in weight.’
‘I am not going to have any more headaches.’
‘I’m not going to lose my temper.’

You probably didn’t succeed with any of these goals, and no wonder, if you understand how the words you use control what happens in your life.

How do you get round this? It’s easy really when you get used to the idea. There are two things you need do.

The first is to try rephrasing your goal using positive – not negative – language,

Don’t use negative words like lose or  stop.

Don’t use  negative ‘ideas’  like headache, sickness, illness, temper.

Make a list of all the words like these that you have used in the past, or still use; write them down as this will help you be more aware of what you are saying or thinking.

The second is to state  your goal in the present not the future.
When you understand a bit more about how your mind works you’ll realise that stating something in the future keeps it firmly there in future time; this makes it very difficult for you to experience it in the present.

Let’s look at how we can express,  ‘I am going to lose 10 pounds in weight’ differently.

Start by working out the weight you want to be and use that figure*.

It will be much more effective if you state your goal as

‘On dd/mm/yyyy, I weigh * pounds.’
Or even better
‘It’s now dd/mm/yyyy and I am my perfect weight’.
‘It’s now dd/mm/yyyy and I am happy with my shape and size’.

I hope you can see the difference. Don’t forget to put a photo somewhere meaningful – the fridge door, perhaps…

Setting Goals Can Help You Keep Your New Year’s Resolutions

Posted December 28th, 2009 by Rosemary Jane

It’s almost time to start writing those New Year’s Resolutions again! How many of us I wonder will give up almost before we’ve begun? And why?  Well I guess it’s probably because they seemed like good ideas but they weren’t really achievable goals.

So this year, here’s an idea to make sure your New Year’s Resolutions  will succeed – by creating some goals.  These goals will need to be realistic, measurable goals about things that matter and that you really want to do.

Here’s what to do. Begin by picking just one goal. Then think about and write down the number of steps you will need to take to fulfill the goal.  Then decide the date you want the goal to be achieved by and work backwards filling in the dates by which you need to take the steps that will help you complete the goal. And don’t worry, you can adjust this as you go along if something takes more or less time than you anticipated, or you need to add steps.

This goal setting plan will work with just about anything from losing weight, to learning to drive, to running a marathon, to starting a new business, to learning a new business skill.

Here’s a goal setting outline:

[Name of Goal ]… to be achieved by dd/mm/yyyy

Step 1 : By dd/mm/yyyy I will have …

Step 2 : By dd/mm/yyyy I will have …

Step 3 : By dd/mm/yyyy I will have …

Note the dates in your diary too as yet another reminder.

Then  break down each step into small actions that you need to take in order to complete the step.

Step [1]:

task 1 – speak to …
task 2 – write to …

Some other verbs you could use to help you decide on the tasks you need to do: meet, arrange, research, look up, visit, telephone/fax/email, discuss, etc. Add more of your own when you think of them. I’m sure you get the idea.

Finally, type this up in a nice font, maybe adding a picture of the goal itself, and print it. Use a photo of a person as slim as you hope to be, or yourself as you once were, if that is your goal.  Try creating a collage, by cutting up various photos, maybe adding drawing or painting, of you crossing the finishing line in a race, if that was your goal.

Pin it up somewhere prominent so you get a frequent reminder and this will help you stick at it.

May this coming year be one in which you achieve your goals.

Good luck!
